Our impact
Content and Communications Management
Australian Government agency
Ora Advisory was engaged to provide capacity uplift to a small Commonwealth government agency’s communications team to enhance their communication and digital capabilities. The team faced several capability and capacity challenges, in addition to balancing diverse stakeholders and complex messages about regulatory reform and ICT investment. The Ora team analysed current practices, identified opportunities for improvements and devised a proactive strategy to achieve long-term communication objectives.

Our approach included:

launching a dedicated website the agency’s reform agenda, with improved accessibility and tracking

refocusing social media efforts on LinkedIn, boosting engagement and message amplification

targeting relevant media outlets, reducing non-effective engagements

creating content for the agency’s annual event, bolstering promotion and engagement.
The team also provided internal communication support to help convey key themes to internal stakeholders. Finally, the team focused on building capacity in the client team for long-term sustainment.
As a result, the STS Taskforce established a sustainable model with improved governance and communication quality. Our efforts facilitated innovative initiatives, fostering engagement across diverse audiences.

Content and Communications Management
Australian Government agency
Ora’s strategic communications and advisory services were engaged by a large Australian Government Department to manage the communications of a section implementing a program to drive successful uptake, training and effective use of a finance and reporting system. Our team was responsible for the planning, creation, management and optimisation of digital content, ensuring content was accessible and enhanced the user experience.
Our team developed a Communications Strategy and Plan for the program, which identified channels, cadence of messaging, content type, and comprehensive key messages. The Plan provided a transparent blueprint to align Program goals with stakeholder needs. The Ora team developed newsletters, email alerts, podcast support, articles, infographics, and user guides.
These artefacts had overwhelmingly positive results, providing accurate and timely information, quality and dynamic content. They enhanced user experience and met the audience’s real-time needs and priorities. There was an increase in learning and development uptake through increased enrolments and participation in the training program. The client also saw that increased participation from leadership and attendance at all-staff drop-in sessions enhanced stakeholder relationships, trust and spread key messages about the program.
